Stevens Point's Arbor Day Tree Planting

Stevens Point celebrated Arbor Day on Friday, May 11. Mayor Wiza and City Forestry staff planted seven trees (funded by WPS) along the west side of the Bandshell in Pfiffner Park.

The trees were planted around the Bandshell and the new bathrooms in the park. Two large Norway spruce were planted by a mechanical tree spade, and five additional trees were planted by hand.

2018 Arbor Day

The National Arbor Day Association has recognized the City of Stevens Point as a Tree City USA for the 37th year. To qualify to be a Tree City USA, municipalities must have a Tree Board, adopt a Community Tree Ordinance, have Community Forestry Program, and have an Arbor Day Celebration.
