New Overnight Parking Regulations and Enforcement

The City of Stevens Point Common Council approved changes to the Overnight Parking Ordinance, 9:05(1). One exception to this ordinance is the creation of overnight permits that can be purchased online, on mobile devices, and at one kiosk downtown.

For information on how to purchase overnights permits online, please visit the City of Stevens Point website at StevensPoint.com/parking and follow the link "Overnight On-Street Parking."  Overnight permits may also be purchased (coins or credit card) at the Kiosk located in the parking lot on the south side of the Cobblestone Hotel, 1117 Centerpoint Drive.

A virtual permit will be issued to your vehicle by registration plate.  No physical permit will be issued.  The cost of the permit $3.00 per night and will allow cars to park from 2:30 AM to 6:00 AM following an alternate side schedule.

An alternate side schedule requires vehicles to be parked on even numbered side of the street during an even calendar day and odd numbered side of the street during an odd numbered day of the week.  The calendar date is defined as when the parking restriction begins at 2:30 am.

Permits do not supercede existing parking regulations such as posted No Parking Zones or special circumstances such as snow emergency declarations.  Overnight permission will no longer by granted by contacting the Portage County Communications Center.
