Building Permits Required for Fences & Driveways

To obtain a fence or driveway permit, now required by the Inspection Department, complete the "building" section of the building permit application and bring that, along with a site plan outlining the proposed improvements, to the Inspection Dept. office.

Fencing standards exist under the building code section 30.04(3) and driveway standards exist under the zoning code 23.01(14(i).

Disposing of Furniture and Other Bulk Items in the City

A reminder to students & other residents doing Spring cleaning or preparing to move - interior furniture & other bulk items are not allowed outside your dwelling, and definitely not on the curb. The City offers a curbside pick-up service for $10 per item.

Bulk item pick-up tags can be purchased at the City Treasurer's office during normal business hours at 1515 Strongs Ave. Bulk items with tags are picked up by City staff from the curbside on Monday mornings. Read More Get More Bulk Item Pickup Tag Information

Request for Proposals: Purchase Vacant Lot, Build Single Family Home

The Stevens Point Redevelopment Authority seeks proposals for the purchase of vacant property at 101 Georgia St. and construction of a single family home there. Buyers must be able to complete construction within 18 months of the transfer of the property.

Downtown Façade Improvement Grant Program Taking Applications

Funds are available for downtown commercial façade building restoration & renovation improvements. Grant application & design review can be approved prior to construction season. Grants can potentially cover 40% of total project costs. Apply by May 25.
