2008 Budget Information.
The Administrative Services office is located on the first floor of City Hall, and is where you
will find the Mayor,
his staff, and the Personnel
Specialist.
The Mayor serves
as the full-time Chief Executive Officer of the city, presides over Common Council meetings, votes in the event
of a tie, and has the power of veto over any ordinance which is approved by the Common Council. A Mayoral veto
can be overturned by a two-thirds vote of the Common Council. The Mayor also serves as the Chairman of the Board
of Public Works and Plan Commission. There are no limits restricting the number of four-year terms an individual
may serve as Mayor.
The Mayor's staff includes a Confidential Secretary and a part-time Administrative Assistant.
