Project:   Whitetail Subdivision Phase III Sewer and Water Main Project
(Project #15-10) - Finch Lane, Hummingbird Lane, Chickadee Lane
Start Date:   September 2010 with completion in November 2010
Contractor:   Kruczek Construction, Inc. of Green Bay, WI
Description:   Sanitary sewer and water main extensions for Hummingbird Land and Chickadee Lane in Whitetail Subdivision.

Project:   TIF VIII Sanitary Sewer Extension Project
Start Date:   October 2010 with completion in November 2010
Contractor:   TBD - Bid date is September 7, 2010 with award September 20, 2010
Description:   Sanitary sewer extension for future development in the Tax-Incremental Finance District No. 8 being part of the Eastside Industrial Park.

Project:   2010 Street Sealcoating Program
Start Date:   August 30, 2010 with completion September 1, 2010, weather permitting. Crackfilling will be done prior to August 30.

Project:   Bike Route Signing Project
Start Date:   Spring 2011
Funding:   Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) approved our request for funding of our Bike Route Signing Project through the Transportation Enhancement (TE) Program and Bicycle and Pedestrian Facilities Program for state fiscal years 2009-2011. These funds will pay 80% or up to $64,000 of an estimated $80,000 project to sign roughly 30 plus miles of designated bike routes within the corporate limits of Stevens Point.

Project:   Water Street Reconstruction Whiting Avenue to Wisconsin Street.
Start Date:   WisDOT letting date - March 2010 with construction start anticipated in April, 2010.
Funding:   Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) allocated funds for Water Street through the Surface Transportation Program - Urban (STP-U). These funds will pay 80% of the cost of reconstructing the street, including such things as storm sewer and curb and gutter, between Whiting Avenue and Wisconsin Street.
Design:   The City awarded Earth Tech Inc. (n/k/a/ AECOM) on May 19, 2008 a contract to design and prepare bidding documents for WisDOT letting on March 9, 2010.
Contractor:   Kruczek Construction, Inc. of Green Bay, WI
Inspection:   WisDOT will provide inspection and has hired EMCS, Inc. of Wausau, WI to inspect roadway items and manage construction. The Sewer and Water Department will inspect sewer and water items.
Description:   The project includes replacing the water main, sanitary sewer and installation of storm sewer and reconstruction of the street and sidewalks.
Assessments:   Properties with clay sanitary sewer laterals and galvanized water services will be special assessed to upgrade the 70+ year old services to new materials. Sanitary and water services are estimated to cost around $2000, based on 2009 pricing.

Project:   US 10 Expansion Project
Start Date:   2006 with completion by 2012
Description:   US 10 serves central Wisconsin as an important east/west corridor connecting the Fox Valley with the Twin Cities. The Wisconsin Department of Transportation is expanding 31 miles of US 10 between I-39 north of Stevens Point with WIS 13 near Marshfield. The new four-lane highway will bypass the communities Junction City, Milladore, Blenker and Auburndale. The expansion project represents an estimated $244 million investment in central Wisconsin. New US 10 opened in July of 2009 between I-39 and Wis 34. The opening of new US 10 north of Stevens Point precipitated new route changes for WIS 66 and County Road HH.

Project:   Country Club Dr./Hoover Rd. Grade Separation Feasibility and Preliminary Design Study
Start Date:   May, 2010 - Final Report May 2013
Description:   The Study is a federally funded project through House Resolution 1105- Omnibus Appropriations Act, 2009 and administered through the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT).

The Study will identify and evaluate the feasibility of various design alternatives for a grade separated crossing at Hoover Road/Country Club Drive. Preliminary design will follow after a preferred alternate is selected by WisDOT and the Stevens Point Common Council. Bicycle and pedestrian accommodations and feasibility of a roundabout at Hoover Road and Industrial Park Drive will be evaluated as part of the Study.

Project:   Lindbergh Avenue - Main Street to Stanley Street
Start Date:   June 7, 2010, completion in September
Description:   Reconstruction of Lindbergh Avenue from Main Street to Stanley Street.
New asphalt and base gravel will be installed by Stevens Point City crews. Intersections will receive updated ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) compliant curb ramps and some additional curb repairs on Lindbergh Avenue.

Lindbergh Avenue will be closed to through traffic during construction.

Project:   Portage County Business Park Sidewalk
Start Date:   May/June 2011
Description:   In a cooperative project involving Portage County and the City of Stevens Point sidewalk will be installed along the west side of Business Park Drive from approximately 1300 feet north of County Road HH to near Clem's Way.

Project:   Patch Street Reconstruction Project
Start Date:   August 2, 2010, completion in late October
Description:   Street reconstruction of Patch Street between Church Street and Michigan Avenue.
Storm sewer improvements, new curb and gutter, gravel base and blacktop.
