On October 31, Deputies were called to the Village
of Almond for two incidents that had occurred that day. Dee's Bar and Grill at 1371 Division St. and the Almond
Fire Dept. at 114 Main St. had been broken into and numerous items were taken.
When Deputies arrived at Dee's bar, they were able to see that the suspects had entered through a window they had
broken on the second floor. Once inside, the suspects took numerous bottles of hard liquor, cigarettes, and the
cash register. The suspects also took several jugs of money that was being collected for someone who was in need
of help because of a medical condition.
Deputies then went to the Almond Fire Department and were shocked to find that the suspects stole numerous pieces
of life-saving first responder equipment including: a Zoll Brand AED Defibrillator, a Motorola HT-1250 radio, a
Medical Oxygen kit and bag, and a crash bag containing numerous first aid supplies.
It appears that there were several people involved in this crime spree. The loss from just the Fire Department
exceeds $3,000.
