Basic Deer Biology
White-tailed deer are the most
common big-game animal in the U.S. They are extremely
adaptable and live in a variety of habitats. They eat a
variety of foods like leaves, grass, bark, acorns, and
pretty much everything in your garden! The average deer
eats 6-8 pounds of forage per day! White-tailed
deer give birth in the summer to twins or even triplets.
That means that one doe this year could equal 4 deer
next year! |
