Heidi Oberstadt was appointed as Fourth District Alderperson in May of 2015. She currently serves on the Board of Public Works, Personnel Committee, Affirmative Action/Fair Housing Committee, and the Board of Park Commissioners.
Heidi and her husband, Brian, are owners of a small photography business called Photographic Memories, LLC by The Oberstadts. Photographic Memories has been happily based in Stevens Point since it was founded in 2008.
Heidi moved to our city in 2003 to attend the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, and she graduated in 2009 with a Bachelor of Music in Instrumental Music Education and a Bachelor of Music in General Music Education.
One of her biggest passions is water conservation. She has chosen to use Trout Unlimited (TU) as her main vehicle for enacting change, although she has also worked with the Central Sands Water Action Coalition, Friends of the Tomorrow River, and River Alliance of Wisconsin in the past. She's on the state council of TU for Wisconsin, the inaugural chair of the Women's Initiative committee, and she sits on the legislative committee.
Heidi has a wide variety of interests and is very active in our community. If you live in District Four, you may have seen her running or riding her bicycle in your neighborhood. In the past few years, she's taught ballroom dance lessons to the Central Wisconsin Network, has been kayaking in big and small water alike, fly fished in 12 states, run nine marathons, adopted a rescue Jack Russell Terrier, learned to balance upside down in yoga, and lost almost 100 pounds.
Her priorities as Alderperson include keeping our neighborhoods safe, enticing new UW-SP graduates to stay in Stevens Point, balancing the needs of our residential citizens with our growing business community, and protecting one of our biggest assets - our natural resources.
