Christmas Tree Disposal

City of Stevens Point residents may take their Christmas trees to the city's recycling and yard waste drop-off, which is open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:00 to 7:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Residents who are physically unable to take their tree to the drop-off may leave it at their curb before the second week of January.

All garbage and recyclables must be at the curb/street side by 7:00 a.m. It can not be out earlier than 6:00 p.m. the day before collection and must be off the curb/street side by 12:00 midnight the day of collection. Any garbage or recyclables placed out beyond these hours is subject to removal with the costs charged to the property owner.

Garbage and recyclables must be in a clear plastic bag. Black bags are not acceptable. Bags may be placed in garbage cans, or may be left out by themselves.

Garbage and recyclables which are not in compliance with collection requirements will be tagged with non-collection information and will not be collected. City collection crews will not collect appliances, demolition material, hazardous wastes, tires, sharps (needles, syringes and lancets), or wet paint at any time from curbside.
