Sixth Ave. Reconstruction Project
The City of Stevens Point will be reconstructing Sixth Avenue from Front Street to Second Street. The project will involve replacing the old sanitary sewers, storm sewers, water mains and reconstruction of the street including curb, gutter and sidewalks. As part of this project, sidewalk will be installed along both sides of Sixth Avenue from Front Street to Second Street and on the east side of Front Street from Sixth Avenue to Bukolt Avenue.
The project will be split into two construction phases to reduce the inconvenience to residents along the construction corridor. One phase of construction will be from Front Street to Georgia Street and the other phase will be from Georgia Street to Second Street.
The project is anticipated to begin in June, 2016 and substantially completed by mid- October, 2016; however, the weather may dictate how soon construction crews can begin and complete their work.
