Mail Carrier Alert Program
Our Carrier Alert Program is free of charge and is designed primarily for the elderly and handicapped who live alone.
To register, a person fills out a registration form and sends it back to the Police Department, where it is kept on file. The registered person will then receive a bright orange Carrier Alert sticker to be put inside of the mailbox.
If the letter carrier notices that the previous day's mail is still in the box, or any other signs that the person may be in distress, the mail carrier will contact local law enforcement. An officer will investigate the situation and, if necessary, contact emergency personnel listed on the registration form.
