Police School Liaison Officer
Police liaison officers are assigned full-time to area schools. Their responsibilities include:
- Assisting students with questions or concerns
- Responding to calls within the school for fights, disorderly students, thefts, threats, truancy, harassment, etc.
- Teaching and talking to classes about driver education, date violence, teaching G.R.E.A.T. to seventh-grade students, and more.

Changes to Metered Parking near UWSP
The City of Stevens Point will be implementing changes to the on-street multi-space metered parking around the University. Changes will include an expansion of the metered zone, reduced enforcement hours, and an increase to the hourly rate.
New Overnight Parking Regulations and Enforcement
The City of Stevens Point Common Council approved changes to the Overnight Parking Ordinance, 9:05(1). One exception to this ordinance is the creation of overnight permits that can be purchased online, on mobile devices, and at one kiosk downtown.
Update - Suspicious Incident in Alley
Sunday, August 12, approx. 3:37 am, Stevens Point Police & Portage Co. Sheriff's Deputies responded to the 2600 block of Jefferson St. Officers spoke with the female and her husband and found that no assault had occurred.
