Point Plus Disabled Transportation
Point Plus
Point Plus is a specialized door-to-door transportation service available to individuals living in the City of Stevens Point and the Village of Whiting who qualify under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) guidelines. 

The service provides transportation opportunities to doctor appointments, shopping, work, hair appointments, or to just visit a friend. it is not limited to medical appointments only.

Eligibility Requirements
  • Individuals interested in using this special service need to fill out an application and must meet the ADA criteria.
  • Stevens Point Transit personnel review all applications to determine eligibility for the service. Staff may consult the appropriate professional regarding your eligibility at any stage of the determination process if it is deemed necessary. 
  • Eligibility will be determined within 21 days of receipt of a completed application. 
  • Submitting an application does not guarantee eligibility.

Service Hours
ADA paratransit services run concurrently with Stevens Point Transit fixed route service.

There is no service on these holidays:
  • New Year's Day
  • Memorial Day
  • Independence Day
  • Labor Day
  • Thanksgiving Day
  • Christmas Day

Fare
  • Non-agency fare $2
  • Agency fare $10

An agency is defined as an organization that serves persons who qualify for human service or transportation-related programs or services due to disability, income, or advanced age consistent with President’s Executive Order on Human Service Transportation Coordination (February 24, 2004).

Campus Shopping Route - Now Saturdays Only
The Campus Shopping route is now a Saturday Only service. It is no longer available Monday through Friday. The Shopping Bus runs from 11:15 to 5:10 pm Saturdays from the UWSP HEC, to ShopKo, the Co-op, UWSP CCC, Target, Walmart, and back to the HEC. See the Map and Schedule (pdf)
East Side/Crossroads Bus Route has Changed
Dunham's is now a a regular bus stop on the East Side/Crossroads bus route. Applebee's is no longer a pick up or drop off site. No special requests are necessary to get picked up or dropped off at Dunham's. See Route and Map (pdf)
East Side/Crossroads Bus Route Detour
August 7 - Mid October, the East Side / Crossroads City Bus Route will follow a detour around the Hoover Ave./Industrial Park Rd. construction. Buses northbound on Hoover will turn left on Heffron, then right on Leahy, and left on Industrial Park Rd. See the Detour Map (pdf)
Point Transit's North Point Route to Detour around Prentice St.
The North Point route of Stevens Point Transit is using a detour around the Prentice St. construction project from May 15 until the project is completed in early October (weather permitting). Due to driver concerns, the route was updated on May 23. See the Detour Map
