Everyone in the Department is cross-trained in Fire Suppression and Emergency Medical Services - to at least the level of Emergency Medical Technician with automatic defibrillator certification.
The Department has been an EMS forerunner for many years, being one of the first in the State to offer Emergency Medical Technicians, and later implementing Intermediate EMTs.

Request for Proposal: Extrication Equipment for Rescue and Fire Suppression Vehicles
The Stevens Point Fire Department is accepting bids for battery powered extrication equipment and tools, airbag lifting kits, and vehicle stabilization kits to outfit two fire apparatus. Proposals are due by 5:00 pm on October 26, 2018.

Stevens Point Fire Fighters Turn Out in Pink This October
In addition to fighting fires, Stevens Point Fire Fighters will wear pink throughout October to fight breast cancer & other cancers. They will sell pink shirts at Station One Sept. 24, - Oct. 31, with proceeds being donated to Saint Michael’s Foundation.
