According to the Bicycle Federation Wisconsin's 2011 Wisconsin Bicycling Benchmarking Report, Wisconsin ranks higher than the national average percentage of trips made by bicycle, and Stevens Point ranked higher than any other Wisconsin city.

The data showed that Wisconsin had an overall bicycle commute mode share of 0.70%, which is greater than the national average of 0.50%. Nine of the cities included in the report had bicycle commute mode shares greater than the Wisconsin average with La Crosse (2.11%), Madison (4.22%) and Stevens Point (5.90%) having the greatest share of commuters on bicycles.

Stevens Point is also home to the 24-mile Green Circle Trail, which is very popular among cyclists from all over the Midwest.
