Bulk Item Pick-Up/Self-Haul
Bulk Items
"Bulk items" are any single item that is too large to fit in your garbage cart with the lid shut. There are some exclusions (see below).

Cost per Item
Bulk items cost $10 each, whether you have them picked-up or haul them yourself.

Schedule Pick-up
To have these items collected at curbside, you must pay for and arrange for pickup of the item from the Comptroller/Treasurer's office. Bulk Item collection is a scheduled pick-up, generally, the Monday after the tag is purchased. We require that you purchase the tag by 12:00 Noon on Friday for the following Monday pickup. When we are closed on Monday, the pickup is Tuesday.

Comptroller/Treasurer office hours are 7:30 am – 4:00 pm Monday through Friday. We are at 1515 Strongs Avenue, WI 54481.

Bulk items cannot be placed out the curb/street until 6:00 pm the night before the pick-up, or the morning of pick-up prior to 7:00 am. Place your bulk item in the same area your garbage cart is collected, making sure you do not block the sidewalk. If you have a dumpster, you must place the item at the curb/street.

Self-Hauled to Drop-off
Bulk items may also be taken/self-hauled to the Stevens Point drop-off facility during regular drop-off hours. You will pay the attendant for each item dropped off. The Drop-off Facility is located one block north of the entrance to Bukolt Park, in front of the City Garage at 100 Sixth Ave., Stevens Point, WI 54481.

Exclusions
Bulk item classification excludes the following items:
  • Appliances
  • Demolition material
  • Electronic waste
  • Hazardous waste
  • Household garbage (bagged)
  • Recyclables
