The Kids
Are Special Here (K.A.S.H.) Playground started
as a community project to build a universally accessible playground. Project organizers raised private funds to
completely construct and maintain a public, wheelchair accessible playground at Mead Park
in Stevens Point. There are over 1,000 special needs children in Portage County who have never been able to freely
enjoy a playground - until now. The K.A.S.H. Playground puts safety and convenience first, but not at the expense of the fun. It was built over a poured rubber surface, which is smoother on wheels, more gentle on falls, and lasts longer than wood chips. The playground has equipment that provides fun for all ages and mobilities! |
