ITEM #2 - SIGNAGE FOR CITY HALL/POLICE
DEPARTMENT
Comptroller-Treasurer Schlice explained that the County would like consistent signing around the courthouse. The
County is asking us to pick up the cost of one of the signs. One sign would be placed at the corner of Arlington
and Strongs Avenue and the other one would be at Church and Court Streets. The signs for the Police Department
would be on both sides of the ramp. The proposal is that we would pay for the ramp signs and half of the other
two signs. We would include that as part of the overall City Hall Project.
Motion made by Ald. Rackow, seconded by Ald. Niedbalski to approve the recommendation for the signage for City
Hall and the Police Department.
Ald. Rackow commented that the uniformity of the signs is an attention getter and we are following the trends of
the University and Rice Clinic/Hospital complex.
Ald. Kedrowski questioned if the cost would be split 50/50.
Comptroller-Treasurer Schlice replied that the two on the ramp would be at 100% City and the two other signs would
be split 50/50. The total cost to the City would be $9,500.00.
Ald. Kedrowski commented that he thought we only pay for 20% of the cost for the courthouse.
Comptroller-Treasurer Schlice replied that we are actually paying about 41% overall for maintenance fees. We own
27% of the building.
Ald. Kedrowski commented that he feels the County is getting another bargain from the City.
Comptroller-Treasurer Schlice explained that two thirds of the signage is related to City departments and one third
is for the County.
Ayes: All Nays: None Motion carried.

Comptroller-Treasurer Schlice stated that he would check into it and have an answer by the Council meeting.
There was further discussion of the claims.
Ayes: All Nays: None Motion carried.
Adjournment at
6:57 p.m.
