Ald. Rackow stated that Division Street is a well traveled part of the city. Based on the pictures, it is evident that the snow was not removed promptly. Snow removal by city contractor is done on a complaint basis.

Alderperson Sevenich said 24 hours after a snowfall is not too much to ask residents to have their sidewalks shoveled. There are laws that protect pedestrians and property owners and these laws have to be enforced.

Ayes, all, nays, none; motion carried.

Margorzata Dymek was not able to appear in tonight's meeting due to illness. She asked that her request be put back in next month's committee meeting.

6. Review of unpaid multiple dwelling licenses.

Director Gardner said that notices were sent out to property owners who have not paid their multiple dwelling licenses on November 1, 1998, and January 25, 1999. Copies of Public Protection Committee agendas were also mailed on Tuesday, February 2, 1999. As of Monday, February 8, 1999, Paul Mayek, 2001 Main Street, Apt. D, has not complied with the licensing requirement. If Mr. Mayek comes up with the money, he will be granted the license with a one day fine of $135.20. If he does not pay for his license, he will be given an order to cease operation of the licensed premises. Director Gardner recommends imposing the fine and revocation if he does not come up with the license fee by Monday, February 15, 1999.

Ald. Pazdernik moved, Ald. Rackow seconded, to impose the one day fine of $135.20 plus the revocation, and that Mr. Mayek be given until Monday, February 15, 1999, to pay the license fee and fine.
