3. Approval of Seasonal Wage Scale
Schrader presented Board with Memo from Joe Graceffa requesting a pay rate increase for officials. Phillips questioned
the scorekeepers receiving a 19% increase and others not.
Motion was made by McDonald, seconded by Aldinger to approve the seasonal wage scale as presented by staff.
Ayes; all, Nays; none. Motion carried.
4. Sale of Park Land Iverson Park for HWY
10 Reconstruction Project (WIDOT)
Schrader explained to Commissioners that by putting in the turning lane in front of the Hill Top, the WIDOT needs
to move the existing bike path several feet to the south. (needs to pick up 7-8 feet). In order to do this, they
will have to place fill along the slope. The fill will start at the entrance to the Girl Scout Lodge driveway and
go west about 175 feet. The filling of the slope should cause very little, if any damage, to the trees in the park.
When finished, the slope of the hill will be a little steeper in some areas, but most of the finished slope will
match the existing slope. By Federal Law, the city can’t give the WIDOT a limited term easement, but must sell
the land to them or accept land in lieu of, that is near the work site. Schrader recommends that motion include
that staff would work with WIDOT on locating land near the site, to replace the land lost, as our first priority.
McDonald questioned where the filling would go and if there were trees on slope. Schrader said that the filling
would go on the top and that there were no trees on slope. (some trees at the base but we shouldn’t get near them).
Freckmann would like to see the area protected from erosion during construction, as some damage was done on past
HWY 10 projects and lotus were lost.
Motion was made by Molski, seconded by Phillips to approve the sale of Park Land in Iverson Park to the WIDOT for
the proposed HWY 10 Reconstruction Project. That staff work with the WIDOT on replacing an equal amount of land
somewhere near Iverson Park at the WIDOT expense and erosion protection be required to protect native plants in
the park.
Ayes; all, Nays; none. Motion carried.
