4. Recommendation on Use of Cell Tower Funds;
Zenoff and Goerke
Schrader explained that our policy as it relates
to spending funds, collected from cell tower leases, is to first use them in the park that the antenna is located.
We currently are working on two projects in Goerke (pressbox renovation) and Zenoff (shelter) where antenna funds
could be used to enhance a proposed project.
Alderperson Sowieja questioned why the funds are not put in the General Fund and Schrader said that when the policy
was established, it was adopted that money would go back to the parks where the antenna is located.
We are using Mike Metcalf for the renovation plans at Goerke.
Motion was made by Phillips, seconded by West to use staff recommendation to use the funds collected through 2002,
at Zenoff and Goerke, for the pressbox renovation at Goerke and shelter addition at Zenoff.
