1. Request for out of state travel - Fire
Department.
In a memorandum addressed to the Personnel Committee members, Fire Chief Barnes is requesting permission for a
Fire Department non-protective employee to attend a two-week resident training course at the Federal Emergency
Management Agency’s National Emergency Training Center in Emmitsburg, Maryland, from March 5 through March 16,
2001. This request is in compliance with City Administrative Policy 3.05, Section B.
This specific course is jointly sponsored by the United States Fire Administration, the National Fire Information
Council and the National Fire Academy.
The State of Wisconsin is converting its fire reporting system to this national system so there is a need to institute
this reporting system and to train its personnel.
The only out-of-pocket cost to the City is the meal ticket in the amount of $174.00.
Ald. Kedrowski moved, Ald. Pazdernik seconded, for approval of the Fire Chief’s request for an out of state travel
for a Fire Department non-protective employee from March 5 through March 16, 2001.
Ayes, all; nays, none. Motion carried.
2. Adjourn into closed session (approximately
7:40 P.M.) pursuant to Wisconsin Statute 19.85(1)(e) for an update on bargaining.
Ald. Seiser moved, Ald. Kedrowski seconded, to adjourn into closed session.
Roll Call: Ayes: Chairman Rackow, Alderpersons Sevenich, Pazdernik, Seiser, Kedrowski.
Nays: None. Motion carried.
3. Reconvene into open session (approximately
10 minutes after adjourning into closed session) for action on a tentative agreement with the Police Union.
Ald. Sevenich moved, Ald. Seiser seconded, to reconvene into open session for action on the 2001-2002 Tentative
Agreement with the Police Officers’ Bargaining Unit.
Roll Call: Ayes: Chairman Rackow, Alderpersons Sevenich, Pazdernik, Seiser, Kedrowski.
Nays: None. Motion carried.
Ald. Pazdernik moved, Ald. Kedrowski seconded, that the Personnel Committee recommends to the Common Council ratification
of the 2001-2002 Tentative Agreement with the Police Officers’
Bargaining Unit.
Ayes, all; nays, none. Motion carried.
