1. Request to Amend City Ordinance 5.04 - Officers of Department.

The Police and Fire Commission, upon request made by Police Chief Carpenter, gave approval to amend Section 5.04 of the City Ordinance. The sergeant’s position vacancy created due to a resignation will not be filled. This will reduce the number of police sergeants from 11 to 10.

The sergeant’s position not being filled will add one police officer. There were also two PSL positions added earlier. It is necessary to amend Section 5.04(1)(b) to reflect these changes. With these changes the number of police officers will increase from 25 to 28.

Ald. Seiser moved, Ald. Filipiak seconded, to approve the request to amend City Ordinance 5.04(1)(b) Chain of Command. The changes will reduce the number of police sergeants from 11 to 10 and increase the number of police officers from 25 to 28.

Ayes all; nays, none. Motion carried.
