6. Inspection Report.
Director Gardner gave some comments concerning the City’s population growth as a result of the 2000 Census. The
2000 Census figures showed the City’s population as 24,551 compared to 23,006 in the 1990 Census, an increase of
1,545.
The director noted that between 1970 and 1980, the City’s population went down and the City’s population from 1980
to 1990 was flat. The population went up from 1990 to 2000.
This increase could be attributed partly to annexations
to the City like the Torun Road annexation, the Whitetail subdivision, the Parkwood and Parkdale Developments,
and the Somers subdivision.
Chairman Phillips asked if the City’s 2000 Census numbers included the Town of Plover boundary adjustment.
Director Gardner said this is slated to come in the City some time in 2007 or 2008.
Ald. Moore moved, Ald. Walther seconded, to accept the Inspection Report and place it on file.
Ayes, all; nays, none. Motion carried.
