Present: Chairman Barr, Ald. Rackow, Phillips, and Nealis

Excused: Ald. Molski

1 - ASSESSOR'S REPORT

Motion made by Ald. Rackow, seconded by Ald. Phillips to accept the report of the Assessor and place it on file.

Ayes: All Nays: None Motion carried.

2 - CONSIDERATION OF CLAIM - DARLENE NIEMCZYK

C/T Schlice stated that Sentry Insurance has recommended the denial of the claim.

Motion made by Ald. Phillips, seconded by Ald. Rackow to deny the claim as recommended by Sentry Insurance.

Ayes: All Nays: None Motion carried.

3 - ACTIVATION OF SPECIAL ASSESSMENT - CARL & JANE OSTRICKI

C/T Schlice stated the property was annexed into the City, therefore the special assessment needs to be activated.

Motion made by Ald. Nealis, seconded by Ald. Phillips to approve the activation of the special assessment.

Ayes: All Nays: None Motion carried.

4 - UPDATE ON STATE BUDGET

Mayor Wescott and C/T Schlice stated there has been no recent activity on the State budget. Conventional wisdom is stating that we should be okay for 2002. It is felt that the people in Madison are waiting until after the elections in November to try to solve the problem. The longer it takes for Madison to solve the problem the bigger it is going to get and it is going to impact everyone.

Ald. Nealis questioned whether or not the Governor could step in under an emergency situation.

Mayor Wescott stated that he does not believe our Governor has the authority to do that.

5 - APPROVAL OF PAYMENT OF CLAIMS

Motion made by Ald. Philllips, seconded by Ald. Rackow to approve the payment of claims in the amount of $252,701.22.

The claims were discussed.

Ayes: All Nays: None Motion carried.
