PERSONNEL COMMITTEE
Monday, June 10, 2002 - 8:20 P.M.
City Water Department - 300 Bliss Avenue


Present: Chairman Rackow, Alderpersons Seiser, Molski, Moore

Excused: Ald. Sowieja

Index of these Minutes:

1. Discussion and possible action on vacation benefit for non-represented employees.
2. Adjourn into closed session (approximately 7:10 p.m.) pursuant to Wisconsin Statute 19.85 (1)(e) for an update on bargaining.
3. Reconvene into open session (approximately 15 minutes after adjourning into closed session) for action on the 2001-2002 tentative agreement with AFSCME Local 309 - Transit.
4. Adjournment.

1. Discussion and possible action on vacation benefit for non-represented employees.

Personnel Specialist Jakusz said the Common Council has approved a revised vacation schedule for the AFSCME Local 348 Clerical employees earlier this year. The revised vacation schedule added one vacation day after twenty five years and two vacation days after twenty six years of employment.

She went on to say that the request before the Personnel Committee tonight is for the Committee's consideration to grant the same vacation schedule to the non-represented employees effective on their anniversary date in 2002. A total of five non-represented employees will be affected if the request is granted. This request is being made for parity purposes.

The City Administrative Policy will be changed accordingly upon approval of the request by the Personnel Committee and Common Council.

Ald. Molski moved, Ald. Moore seconded, to grant the same vacation schedule to the non-represented employees as was given to the AFSCME Local 348 Clerical Employees earlier this year and that the effective date of the vacation schedule for the non-representative employees is on their anniversary date in 2002.

Ayes, all; nays, none. Motion carried.

2. Adjourn into closed session (approximately 8:25 P.M.) pursuant to Wisconsin Statute 19.85(1)(e) for an update on bargaining.

Ald. Moore moved, Ald. Seiser seconded, to adjourn into closed session.

Roll Call: Ayes: Chairman Rackow, Ald. Seiser, Molski, Moore.
Nays: None. Motion carried.

3. Reconvene into open session (approximately 15 minutes after adjourning into closed session) for action on the 2001-2002 tentative agreement with AFSCME Local 309 - Transit.

Ald. Seiser moved, Ald. Moore seconded, to reconvene into open session.

Roll Call: Ayes: Chairman Rackow, Ald. Seiser, Molski, Moore.
Nays: None. Motion carried.

Ald. Seiser moved, Ald. Molski, seconded, to recommend to the Common Council approval of the 2001-2002 tentative labor agreement with AFSCME Local 309 - Transit.

Ayes, all, nays, none. Motion carried.

4. Adjournment - 8:35 P.M.
