Approval of Minutes
Commissioner Boylan moved, seconded by Commissioner Fandre, to approve the minutes of the July 9, 2002 meeting.
Ayes, all; nays, none. Motion carried.
Confirmation of Bills
Commissioner Fandre moved, seconded by Commissioner Boylan, to approve the confirmation of the July 2002 bills.
Ayes, all; nays, none. Motion carried.
Review of Operational Budget
- Police Department and Fire Department
Commissioner Meyer moved, seconded by Commissioner Taylor, to support the Police Department's proposed 2003 operational
budget requests as presented.
Ayes, all; nays, none. Motion carried.
The Fire Department's operational budget will be
reviewed at the September meeting.
Discussion, with possible
action, regarding police officer attending law enforcement torch run international training conference
Commissioner Meyer moved, seconded by Commissioner Boylan, to approve that Officer Tony Zblewski attend an out
of state training conference for the Special Olympics 2002 International Law Enforcement Torch Run Training Conference
in Honolulu, Hawaii from November 6 - 10, 2002. All expenses are paid by Special Olympics.

Police Chief's Report
Chief Carpenter reported:
Commissioner Fandre moved, seconded by Commissioner
Meyer, to approve the Police Chief's report for July 2002.
Ayes, all; nays, none. Motion carried.
Commissioner Taylor moved, seconded by Commissioner
Boylan, to approve the donation of squad car radio and computer console equipment hardware for six patrol vehicles
from Gamber Johnson of Stevens Point, with a wholesale value of $2,183.00.
Ayes, all; nays, none. Motion carried.
Note: Gamber Johnson, 3001 Borham Avenue, Stevens Point, is nationally known for the design and manufacture of
hardware for use to facilitate the effective use of equipment in emergency vehicles.

Meyer, to approve the Fire Chief's report for July 2002.

Item No. 10(a): Police Officer Applicant Interviews
Commissioner Boylan moved, seconded by Commissioner
Taylor, to approve the three candidates interviewed be placed on the police officer recruitment eligibility list
for the period of one year starting August 14, 2002 and ending August 13, 2003.
Ayes, all; nays, none. Motion carried.
Item No. 10(b): Recommendation of probationary police officer to regular status
Commissioner Boylan moved, seconded by Commissioner
Meyer, to approve Officer Ted Wanta to regular police officer status upon the completion of his probationary period.
Ayes, all; nays, none. Motion carried.
Item No. 10(c): Police Department personnel matter
Commissioner Taylor moved, seconded by Commissioner
Fandre, that the Commission continue information collection for further review at the next scheduled meeting.
Ayes, all; nays, none. Motion carried.
