Special City Council Meeting Minutes
Monday, November 15, 2004 - 6:30 P.M.

Roll Call: Present: Ald. Sevenich, Walther, Markham, Wiza, Sowieja, Barr, Rackow, Molski, Stroik, Barber, Moore

2. Finance Committee minutes of budget hearing
held on October 26, 2004.
Ald. Barr moved, Ald. Sowieja seconded, for approval of the Finance Committee minutes of budget hearing held on
October 26, 2004.
Roll Call: Ayes all.
Nays none. Motion carried.
3. Public hearing on the general local municipal
budget for 2005, was declared open by the Mayor.
As no one wished to speak, the Mayor declared the public hearing closed.
4. Resolution adopting the budget for the
City of Stevens Point for the year 2005.
Mayor Wescott stated the tax levy will only increase by $223,613 or 2.15%, keeping our rate well below the previous
state average of 4.3%. The assessed tax rate will only increase by a mere $.09 from $8.53 to $8.62. The city's
tax rate was held constant the last 7 out of 8 years. Although the budget remains lean, the city has still been
able to keep almost all of the same services as in years past.
Ald. Barr moved, Ald. Moore seconded, for adoption of the resolution adopting the budget for the City of Stevens
Point for the year 2005.
Roll Call: Ayes: Ald. Sevenich, Walther, Markham, Wiza, Sowieja, Barr, Rackow, Molski, Stroik, Barber, Moore.
Nays: None. Motion carried.
5. Resolution appropriating necessary funds
for the City of Stevens Point for 2005 and levying the tax rate for the year 2004.
Ald. Sowieja moved, Ald. Walther seconded, for adoption of the resolution appropriating necessary funds for the
City of Stevens Point for 2005 and levying the tax rate for the year 2004.
Roll Call: Ayes: Ald. Moore, Barber, Stroik, Molski, Rackow, Barr, Sowieja, Wiza, Markham, Walther, Sevenich.
Nays: None. Motion carried.
6. Resolution providing for writing special
assessments into the tax roll for 2004.
Ald. Rackow moved, Ald. Molski seconded, for adoption of the resolution providing for writing special assessments
into the tax roll for 2004.
Roll Call: Ayes: Ald. Sevenich, Walther, Markham, Wiza, Sowieja, Barr, Rackow, Molski, Stroik, Barber, Moore.
Nays: None. Motion carried.
