Finance Committee Minutes
August 9, 2004 at 6:17 P.M.

1 - ASSESSOR'S REPORT
Motion made by Ald. Molski, seconded by Ald. Rackow to approve the report of the Assessor and place it on file.
Ayes: All Nays: None Motion carried.
2 - CONSIDERATION OF CLAIMS
- DAVID HARVATH
Chairman Barr reported that Sentry Insurance has denied the claim and has recommended we do the same.
Motion made by Ald. Rackow, seconded by Ald. Molski to deny the claim for David Harvath.
Ayes: All Nays: None Motion carried.
3 - AUTHORIZATION FOR APPRAISAL
OF 916 CENTERPOINT DRIVE - PORTESI PIZZA
Ald. Molski questioned if we have to pay relocation fees for their move to the industrial park.
Director Gardner stated there would be a stipulation that the offer would be made after the property is vacated.
Ald. Sowieja questioned the size of the property.
Director Gardner stated the building is about 4000 square feet. The building occupies most of the lot along with
a small parking lot. We may want to look at purchasing this lot while it is vacated to avoid paying relocation
costs.
Ald. Rackow questioned how much the appraisal would cost.
Director Gardner stated that there was an appraisal done about nine years ago and when he talked to the appraiser
on the telephone, he estimated about $650 to update it. He stated that it would be less than $1000.
Motion made by Ald. Rackow, seconded by Ald. Molski to approve obtaining an appraisal of 916 CenterPoint Drive.
Ayes: All Nays: None Motion carried.
4 -ORDINANCE AMENDMENT -
INCREASE POLLWORKERS FOR PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION
Ald. Molski questioned how the current ordinance reads and questioned whether or not this will permanently change
the ordinance.
City Attorney stated this will change the ordinance permanently from reading no less than 3 and no more than 5,
to no less than 3 and no more than 7. This will take care of all the future presidential elections. This will give
the Clerk discretion to decide how many workers she needs in each district.
Motion made by Ald. Molski, seconded by Ald. Barr to approve amending the ordinance to increase pollworkers.
Ayes: All Nays: None Motion carried.
5 - APPROVAL OF THE PAYMENT
OF CLAIMS
Motion made by Ald. Barr, seconded by Ald. Molski to approve the payment of claims in the amount of $716,714.77.
Ayes: All Nays: None Motion carried.
6 - ADJOURN INTO CLOSED SESSION
(APPROXIMATELY 6:25 P.M.) PURSUANT TO WISCONSIN STATE STATUTE 19.85 (1)(G) FOR CONSULTATION WITH THE CITY ATTORNEY
REGARDING LITIGATION - WORZALLA
Motion made by Ald. Rackow, seconded by Ald. Walther at 6:25 P.M. to adjourn into closed session.

Motion carried.
