3. Request to Have Jazz Fest in Pfiffner Pioneer Park on September 5, 2004 (Leon Ayers)

Leon Ayers and Nick Marrero drafted a letter requesting the use of the Bandshell in Pfiffner Pioneer Park for a Jazz Fest. The letter states that a group of city residents, wish to provide a "River City Jazz Festival" on Sunday, September 5, 2004 as a fund raiser for Operation Boot Strap. Area jazz groups would be asked to perform, during the afternoon, at various downtown locations, with the main event taking place at the Bandshell between 7:00 pm and 10:00 pm.

Area service organizations would be invited to sell food and refreshments. Schrader said that we ordinarily request a $500.00 fee but since this is going for Operation Boot Strap, the fee could be waived as others have in the past.

4. Discussion and Recommendation on Information Signage Program along Green Circle Trail in Pfiffner Pioneer Park

Ron Zimmerman, from UWSP, had three students work on this project in his Interpretive Class. They did an excellent job on three signs along the Green Circle Trail in Pfiffner Pioneer Park; (1) Icing, between blacktop path and river (2) Logging, Bandshell area and (3) Claming, buttons, Pfiffner Building.

Schrader stated that the Green Circle Committee would pay for these signs, and signs would be laminated, on metal, with a life expectancy of 5-10 years.

Hahner questioned if there would be any DNR regulations and Schrader said no.

Freckmann pointed out that when they make these signs, more copies of the photo can be made so they could be replaced down the road.

Markham thought it would be great if info could be tied in with what's there now and Moore questioned if the info is correct. Schrader said it has been checked with Tim Siebert and others and found to be accurate.

Motion was made by Curtis, seconded by Sevenich to approve the Information Signage Program along the Green Circle Trail in Pfiffner Pioneer Park.

Ayes; all, Nays; none. Motion Carried

Curtis felt that we should draft a letter, expressing our appreciation to the students, for a job well done. Schrader said he will contact Ron Zimmerman.

6. Adjournment
