Personnel Committee Meeting Minutes
Monday, September 13, 2004 - 8:20 P.M.

Present: Chairman Molski, Alderpersons, Markham, Moore, Stroik, Barber
Also Present: Mayor Wescott; Attorney Molepske; C/T Schlice; Ald. Sevenich, Wiza, Rackow, Sowieja, Barr; Chief Morris; Captain McCulley; Chief Barnes; Steve Plaski; Jami Gebert; Susan Lemke Transit Manager Lemke; Director John Gardner; Gene Kemmeter - Portage County Gazette; Lisa Jakusz

1. Request approval of side letter
to the Police Officer's Labor Agreement.
2. Update on Employee Suggestion
Program.
3. Request to fill Bus Operator
position in the Transit Department.
4. Adjourn into closed session (approximately 6:45 p.m.) pursuant to Wisconsin Statute
19.85(1)(f) for the purpose of reviewing request(s) for extended medical leave(s) of absence.
5. Reconvene into open session (approximately 15 minutes after adjourning into closed session)
for possible action on the request for leave of absence.

1. Request Approval of side letter

Ald. Stroik moved, Ald. Markham seconded, approval of the side letter to the Police Officer's Labor Agreement.
Chairman Molski noted she was glad to see a return to work program implemented. Ayes, all; nays, none.
2. Update on Employee Suggestion
Program.
Personnel Specialist Jakusz stated that this was an informational item only and no action was necessary.
3. Request to fill Bus Operator
position in the Transit Department.
This vacancy is due to an upcoming retirement in the department. Ald. Stroik moved, Ald. Molski seconded, approval
to refill this vacancy. Ayes, all; nays, none.
4. Adjourn into closed session
(approximately 6:45 p.m.) pursuant to Wisconsin Statute 19.85(1)(f) for the purpose of reviewing request(s) for
extended leave(s) of absence.
Ald. Stroik moved, Ald. Barber seconded, to adjourn into closed session.
Roll Call: Ayes: Chairman Molski, Alderpersons Markham, Moore, Stroik, Barber.
Nays: None. Motion carried.
5. Reconvene into open session
(approximately 15 minutes after adjourning into closed session) for possible action on the requests(s) for leave(s)
of absence.
Ald. Moore moved, Ald. Markham seconded, to reconvene into open session.
Roll Call: Ayes: Chairman Molski, Alderpersons Markham, Moore, Stroik, Barber.
Nays: None. Motion carried.
Ald. Barber moved, Ald. Moore seconded, denial of the extended medical leave of absence request for Mr. Wanserski.
Aye, all; nays, none.
Ald. Barber moved, Ald. Markham seconded, denial of extended medical leave of absence request for Ms. Plaski and
require that she utilize accrued benefits prior to requesting such additional leave. Ayes, all; nays, none.
6. Adjournment - 8:39 P.M.
