Personnel Committee Meeting Minutes
Monday, October 11, 2004 - 7:10 P.M.

Present: Chairman Molski, Alderpersons Markham, Moore, Stroik, Barber

1. 2004 Reclassification Request
(Police Department).
Mayor Wescott stated that reclassification requests submitted for non-represented employees were on hold due to
the current budget situation. Personnel Specialist Jakusz explained that due to contract language, the City is
obligated to go through the reclassification process as outlined in the labor agreement for these positions.
Alderman Stroik moved, Alderman Barber seconded, all ayes, to approve the recommendation for the 2004 Reclassification
Request for the classification of Police Department Secretary increasing the hourly rate by $.30 (cents) effective
July 1, 2004 and will be computed after the across the board increase is added.
2. Discussion and possible
action on Elected Officials salary for Alderpersons.
After consultation with the Comptroller/Treasurer, Finance Committee Chairman Barr and Personnel Committee Chairperson
Molski, the Mayor is recommending a freeze for the Alderman salary for 2005 and increasing the salary from $4,600
to $4,800 in 2006. He further recommends that the Council President continue to receive an additional $100 per
year.
Chairperson Molski moved, Alderman Moore seconded, all ayes, to freeze the Alderman salary in 2005 at $4,600 and
increase the salary to $4,800 in 2006. The Council President will continue to receive an additional $100 per year.
3. Adjourn into closed session
(approximately 6:55 p.m.) pursuant to Wisconsin Statute 19.85(1)(f) for the purpose of reviewing a request for
extended medical leave of absence.
Alderman Moore moved, Alderman Stroik seconded, to adjourn into closed session.
Roll Call: Ayes: Chairman Molski, Alderpersons Stroik, Markham, Moore, Barber.
Nays: None. Motion carried.
4. Reconvene into open session
(approximately 15 minutes after adjourning into closed session) for possible action on the request for leave of
absence.
Alderman Moore moved, Alderman Molski seconded, all ayes, to reconvene into open session.
Roll Call: Ayes: Chairman Molski, Alderpersons Stroik, Markham, Moore, Barber.
Nays: None. Motion Carried.
Alderman Markham moved, Alderman Molski seconded, all ayes, to approve an extended medical leave of absence for
Sandra Plaski contingent upon: her exhaustion of all accrued benefits; her attendance at an independent medical
examination scheduled by the City of Stevens Point, if the independent medical examination sets a return to work
date prior to that set by her physician, the City will abide by the IME date; failure to comply with the parameters
outlined will void the approval of extended leave.
