1. Comprehensive Planning
John Gardner discussed the Possible Transportation
Alternatives map and noted consensus between the Town and the city south of Hwy. 10. The railroad commissioner
is talking about closing the RR crossing at Burbank. Discussion followed regarding if the crossing should be preserved
and the possibility of an underpass at Burbank. He suggested language to "work to establish underpass at Burbank".
Ron Borski questioned the short proposed roads off Hwy. 10.
John Gardner responded they are proposed intersections. The entire road did not have to be mapped.
Nick Somers felt the proposed road north of Highway 10 should stay east-west for a longer distance - possibly coming
closer to his property.
Chm. Wescott moved, seconded by Lois Feldman, to approve the road network south of Hwy. 10, widen HH to four lanes,
and have Old. Hwy. 18 either grade-separated at Burbank or routed east to Stockton Road. Ayes all; Nays none; Motion
carried.
The Town of Stockton was encouraged to work with the Town of Hull on the roads north of Highway 10.
Discussion followed regarding past and future expansion of the city. Areas discussed included higher uses at the
intersection of US 10 and County Trunk J, comparing the proposed land use maps prepared by the city and by the
Town of Stockton Plan Commission, and the need to preserve expansion space for future city annexations.
Meeting adjourned.
