Police & Fire Commission Minutes

Roll Call: Commissioners Judy, Pazdernik, Schleihs and Taylor
Also Present: Mayor Gary Wescott, Police Chief Jeff Morris, Lt. Kevin Ruder
1. Adjourn into Executive Session
Commissioner Pazdernik moved, seconded by Commissioner Taylor, to adjourn into closed session pursuant to sec.
19.85(1)(c), Wis. Stats. for the purpose of promotion to the rank of Captain within the Stevens Point Police Department
Commissioner Judy, yes; Commissioner Meyer, yes; Commissioner Pazdernik, yes; Commissioner Taylor, yes
Ayes, all; nays, none. Motion carried.
2. Reconvene into Open Session
Commissioner Meyer moved, seconded by Commissioner Taylor, to reconvene into open session for possible action.
Commissioner Judy, yes; Commissioner Meyer, yes; Commissioner Pazdernik, yes;
Commissioner Taylor, yes
Ayes, all; nays, none. Motion carried.
Commissioner Taylor moved, seconded by Commissioner Meyer, to approve Kevin Ruder to the rank of Probationary Police
Captain and to support Captain Ruder's salary at midpoint for Police Captain on the 2005 Management Pay Plan as
presented by Chief Morris.
Commissioner Judy, yes; Commissioner Meyer, yes; Commissioner Pazdernik, yes;
Commissioner Taylor, yes
Ayes, all; nays, none. Motion carried.
