1. Approval of minutes from the January 27, 2005
Transportation Commission meeting.
Alderperson Molski moved approval of the January 27, 2005 Transportation Commission meeting minutes. Joe Kanter
seconded.
Ayes all; Nays None; Motion Carried
2. Update on UWSP U-Pass semester
statistics.
The university U-Pass program ridership statistics are as follows:
Aug-Sept 2004 3304 rides
October 2004 4,137 rides
November 2004 4,321 rides
December 2004 5,144 rides
January 2005 2,701 rides (Jan. 24-31st)
February 2005 8459 rides
3. Discussion and possible
action on discontinuation of the Harmony Village Route.
Manager Lemke received no comments from Harmony Village after submitting a letter to them regarding the lack of
ridership from their complex and discontinuation of the Harmony Village route. Alderperson Moore did contact Manager
Lemke regarding the issue and had no objection to discontinuing the service based on the ridership statistics from
Harmony Village.
Joe Kanter moved to discontinue service to Harmony Village effective March 10, 2005. Fred Hopfensperger seconded
the motion.

4. Manager's Report:
Year End Reports
115,002 revenue rides were provided by the Public Transit System in 2004, a 16.5% increase over 2003. In addition
to revenue rides Stevens Point Transit provided 15,966 transfer rides, totaling 130,968 total rides.
Total passenger revenue for 2004 was $113,292.00. The 2003 passenger revenue generated was $68,077, or a 66% increase.
Update on 2005-2006 U-Pass Program
Manager Lemke reported that the Student Government Finance Committee has approved the funding for the U-Pass program
for academic calendar year 2005-2006.
Operations Supervisor Tom Carroll has accomplished the "Train the Trainer" program with 5 university
students who will now hold sessions on campus which will teach students how to use the public transportation service.
Supervisor Carroll will attend the first few sessions as a support person for the trainers. Eventually the students
will assume responsibility for the continuation of the program.
Update on Sign Project
Manager Lemke completed and submitted the final Bus Stop Sign Specifications to the State for final review. It
was determined that the project falls under State Contract #15-80176. Therefore the project will not go out to
bid. Rather Badger State Prison Industries will be awarded the work under the above stated contract. Manager Lemke
has been in contact with Badger State, they have reviewed the specifications and are prepared to meet the specifications
and timelines.
5. Next meeting date.
The next meeting of the Transportation Commission will be held at the Lincoln Center on April 6, 2005.
