1. Approval of the minutes from
the May 10, 2005 Transportation Commission meeting.
Bob Woehr noted that his name was misspelled under
agenda item 1 and the numbering sequence of the agenda was wrong. Bob Woehr moved to approved the minutes of the
May 10, 2005 Transportation Commission meeting with noted corrections. Elbert Rackow seconded.
Ayes all; Nays none; Motion carried.
2. Try Transit Week promotion.
Manager Lemke suggested that the commission consider a "Try Transit" week promotion in July. Typically the Transit department has offered 2 days of free rides during the downtown Crazy Days celebration (now known as Summer in the City.) Manager Lemke felt that it would be advantageous to offer the Try Transit week in combination with the Summer in the City event. The estimated loss in revenue if the event is combined with Summer in the City would be approximately $300.00 above other years.
Mr. Rackow moved that the Transit Department offer free rides for the fixed route bus service during the week of Summer in the City. Alderperson Robinson seconded.

3. Manager's Report:
April and May ridership and revenue reports
Manager Lemke reported that in April 2005 Transit ridership increased 47.48% over 2004. Revenue generated in April
was $19,455.25. The transit ridership for May 2005 increased 45.70% over 2004. The revenue generated in May 2005
was $18,787.70.
Staff update
The Replacement Bus Operator position, which is an approximate 16 hours a week position, remains open at this time.
Advertising will commence within the next couple of weeks.
Transit video
Manager Lemke suggested to the Commission that it is her intention to develop a video which will demonstrate to
the general public how to use public transportation. She presented a video which Eau Claire Transit system has
developed as an example of what she would like to accomplish for Stevens Point. Manager Lemke will compile a list
of all areas of public transportation that she wishes to educate the pubic on and present it at the next commission
meeting for the Commission's review. Manager Lemke indicated that she spoke with John Quirk regarding the project.
Mr. Quirk stated that he would be willing to look at the project in the future but at this time is quite busy.
Sign project update
The bus stop sign project is scheduled to begin the week of June 20th. The poles have arrived and the signs are
scheduled to arrive Monday or Tuesday. The installation process will take approximately 2 weeks.
Alderperson Robinson moved to approve the Manager's report and place it on file. Bob Woehr seconded.

4. Next meeting date.
The next meeting of the Transportation Commission
is scheduled for July 14, 2005 at 4:30 p.m.
5. Adjourn.
