1. Approval of the minutes from the August 16, 2005 Transportation Commission meeting.

Bob Woehr moved to approve the Transportation Commission minutes from the August 16, 2005 meeting. Elbert Rackow seconded.
Ayes all; Nays none; Motion Carried.

2. CY2006 State and Federal Funding Update.

Manager Lemke reported that the state and federal combined operating assistance funding will be maintained at the current rate of 65% for CY2006.

3. WURTA Fall Conference Update.

The Wisconsin Urban and Rural Transit Association is currently working on a Transit Omnibus Bill Initiative. A conceptual outline was distributed to the Commission for their review and input. The Commission recommended that Manager Lemke keep them updated on any changes and communicate with local legislatures.

4. CY2006 State/Federal Operating Budget.

Manager Lemke presented a draft of the state/federal operating budget to the Commission for review. She indicated that the final budget will be presented to the Commission at the next meeting.

5. Non-Profit Poster Policy (Rackow).

Elbert Rackow discussed with the Commission his concerns regarding establishing an advertising policy for non-profit organizations. The Commission determined that more information was needed prior to making a determination on a policy of this nature.

Bob Woehr motioned to postpone action on the draft proposal until additional information is available. Elbert Rackow seconded.

6. Manager's Report:

August Ridership/Revenue Report
August ridership for 2005 increased 16.54% or 1386 rides from August 2004. Revenue increased from $4964 in 2004 to $5,186 in 2005.
Staff updates
Transit's newest Bus Operator, Jeff Mijal, has been hired and trained and is currently on board. One vacant position remains. The Personnel Specialist will be running ads the end of this month for the 16 hour a week position.
Video update
Project is ongoing.

Bob Woehr moved to approve the Manager's report and place it on file. Jeremy Slowinski seconded.
Ayes All; Nays None; Motion Carried

7. Next meeting date.

The next Transportation Commission meeting is scheduled for October 6th at 4:30 p.m.

8. Adjourn.

The meeting was adjourned at 5:50 p.m.
