Chairperson Hans Walther called the meeting
to order at 4:30 p.m.
1. Approval of the minutes
from the October 6, 2005 Transportation Commission meeting.
Elbert Rackow made a motion to approve the October 6, 2005 Transportation Commission meeting minutes. Bob Woehr seconded.
Ayes all; Nays none; Motion carried.
2. Discussion on an Advertising
Policy.
Manager Lemke presented the Commission with information
that she received from other transit properties in regard to advertising policies they have in place. She also
presented the Commission with the current contract and pricing information from Houck Advertising. Following a
lengthy discussion the Commission recommended that Elbert Rackow continue to work on a draft policy for the Commission
to review at a future meeting.
3. Review of the 2005 Cost-Efficiency
Analysis for Wisconsin Public Transit Systems.
Manager Lemke presented the Commission with the
2005 Cost-efficiency Analysis for Wisconsin's Public Transit Systems that was prepared by the Wisconsin Dept. of
Transportation Bureau of Transit, Local Roads, Rails and Harbors. Stevens Point Transit was in compliance in all
6 categories, which was not the case with many of the peers. Manager Lemke stressed the importance of maintaining
compliance as continuation of funding is linked to meeting the performance standards.
4. Manager's Report:
September Ridership/Revenue Report
Quarterly Ridership / Revenue Report
September ridership was up 26.90% over 2004. September
revenue generated was $5,475.85 up from $5,335.85 in 2004. Third Quarter ridership was up 20.97% over 2004 and
revenue was $15,877.40 up from the 2004 third quarter revenue of $15,145.25.
5. Recommendation for approval
of the Manager's Report.
Elbert Rackow moved to approve the Manager's report.
Jeremy Slowinski seconded.
Ayes all; Nays none; Motion carried.
6. Next meeting date.
The next Transportation Commission meeting is scheduled
for December 1st, 2005 at 4:30 p.m.
7. Adjourn.
