3. FUNDING REQUEST FOR LIFT STATION - MICHIGAN AVENUE.

C/T Schlice stated the Board of Public Works approved the repair in the previous meeting. This is a non-budgeted item and was not expected when budget was done last year so he recommends funding to come from contingency.

Ald. Molski questioned that the Public Works gave a figure of $24,000 each and here it states $40,000 each.

C/T Schlice stated it depends on how they split it up because part of it is electrical work and part of it is to replace the pump. He stated that the $40,000 was just preliminary numbers and they worked in some of the other ones, so make it not to exceed $50,000.

Ald. Hanson questioned if this was for both pumps, or what exactly this amount will do.

C/T Schlice stated this will fix one.

Civil Engineer Saunders stated this would be to replace the one pump and then do the electrical. The electrical is in the area of $20,000-$24,000 and then the pump is about $20,000.

Ald. Stroik questioned if this is an identical pump or is there going to be some cost savings from better efficiency.

Civil Engineer Saunders replied that one of the pumps they are looking at is more efficient.

Motion made by Ald. Molski, seconded by Ald. Moore to approve the funding for the lift station for Michigan Avenue with funding to come from contingency and not to exceed $50,000.

Ayes: All Nays: None Motion carried.
