C/T Schlice moved, seconded by Alderperson Barber to accept the March 2007 Parking Meter Report and place it on file.

2. Consideration/Action of Bids for 2007 Patch Street Trail Project #01-07A:

This project is scheduled to go over the course of two years with the first year going from Michigan Avenue to the bridge and the second year to finish from the bridge to Hoover Road.

Alderperson Meyer moved, seconded by Alderperson Stroik to accept the May 2007 Patch Street Trail Project bid #01-07A to be awarded to American Asphalt in the amount of $243,609.04.

Ayes all; nays none; Motion carried.

3. Consideration/Action of Bids for 2007 Bituminous Surfacing Project #05-07:

Alderperson Barber moved, seconded by Alderperson Stroik to accept the May 2007 Bituminous Surfacing Project bid #05-07 to be awarded to American Asphalt in the amount of $777,538.20.

Ayes all; nays none; Motion carried.

4. Consideration/Action of Bids for 2007 Curb, Gutter, Sidewalk, and Concrete Street Repair Project #06-07:

C/T Schlice moved, seconded by Alderperson Barber to accept the May 2007 Curb, Gutter, Sidewalk, and Concrete Street Repair Project to be awarded to Ski Inc. in the amount of $152,566.00 as the lowest of four bidders.

Ayes all; nays none; Motion carried.

5. Consideration/Action of Bids for 2007 Concrete Street Repair Project #07-07:

Alderperson Stroik moved, seconded by Alderperson Heart to accept the May 2007 Concrete Street Repair Project #07-07 to be awarded to Quality Concrete & Excavating in the amount of $65,536.00 as the lowest of four bidders.

Ayes all; nays none; Motion carried.

6. Consideration/Action of Bids for 2007 Sewer and Water Main Project #08-07:

Alderperson Myers moved, seconded by Alderperson Barber to accept the May 2007 Sewer and Water Main Project #08-07 to be awarded to Earth Inc. (Dan DeBoer) in the amount of $360,508.50 as the lowest of three bidders.

Ayes all; nays none; Motion carried.

7. Traffic Study TS-07-05; Consideration/Action of Stop Signs on Windy Drive (east and west) at Elizabeth Avenue:

Alderperson Barber moved, seconded by Alderperson Halverson to accept the Traffic Study #TS-07-05 to install two stop signs at the intersection of Windy Drive and Elizabeth Avenue.

A) Airport

• Airport Terminal - We've been working closely with the architect and the Bureau of Aeronautics to negotiate changes to bring this project in within budget. There's a chance this could be re-bid this project if we can't work out something that is reasonable and under budget.
• ILS - This project is still moving forward, although frustrated in the speed in which it's moving (or not).

B) Engineering

• Field work and design - The Engineering Division has much of the design work for the 2007 projects. Crews are preparing projects for staking, inspection and finishing as-built documentation.

C) Streets

• Maintenance Projects - Street crews are continuing to patch, clean and repair catch basins, shouldering, and construction and will soon start street painting. Also working on equipment repair, signs, banners, flags, barricades, as well as sanitary and storm sewer cleaning and repair, and garbage and recycling.
• Garbage and Recycling - We are continuing to evaluate the use of fully automated garbage and recycling trucks.
• Public Works Open House - To celebrate Nation Public Works Week, May 20 - 26th. The Public Works Department is sponsoring and "Open House" Saturday, May 19, 2007 from 10:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. at the Municipal Garage, 100 Sixth Avenue (by Bukolt Park).
