1. Approval of the minutes from the October
4, 2007 Transportation Commission meeting.
Manager Lemke noted the shelter sizes for the St. Michael's Hospital shelters and the Plover Connection shelter
was incorrect in the minutes. The correct size is 3-4 people. The listed costs were correct.
Elbert Rackow moved to approve the October
4, 2007 Transportation Commission meeting
minutes with the noted correction. Fred Hopfensperger seconded. Ayes all; Nays none; Motion carried.
2. Bus Shelters
Manager Lemke reviewed the Commission's revised/reduced shelter recommendation which was determined at the last
Commission meeting with Mayor Halverson. Mayor Halverson expressed his appreciation for the Commissions efforts
to reduce the local share cost of the project. Mayor Halverson recommended a shelter be placed in Doolittle Apts.
In order to remain within our allotted local share budget it was determined the Plover Connection shelter will
be put on hold. Riders who need a Plover Connection and request a sheltered location will be advised to use the
Walmart Connection location vs. the Wanta drive location.
Elbert Rackow inquired if the Mayor is aware there will be installation costs above and beyond the shelter costs.
Manager Lemke indicated he is aware of that, the shelter project will be two phase, the shelter purchase, and the
shelter installation.
Elbert Rackow made a motion the Transit Manager move forward with the purchase of metal roof shelters which will
be placed at St. Michael's Hospital, Evergreen/Northpoint Apartments, Doolittle Apartments, County Market, and
Minnesota and 5th Ave., with the intent to complete the purchase and install of the remaining metal roof shelters
in future years. Hans Walther seconded. Ayes all; Nays none; Motion carried.
