The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. by Chairman Hans Walther.

1. Approval of the minutes from the November 1, 2007 Transportation
Commission meeting.
Elbert Rackow moved to approve the minutes from the November 1, 2007 Transportation Commission meeting. Joe Kanter seconded.
Ayes all; Nays none; Motion carried.
2. Bus Shelters IFB update
The shelter Invitation for Bid packet is currently
being reviewed by the state procurement specialist. Manager Lemke has been in contact with the procurement specialist
who indicated that the review should be concluded within a week. Once the state has completed the review the packet
will be ready for release.
3. Wisconsin Statewide Transit
Marketing Program
WISDOT has released the new state wide marketing
program to all transit properties. The theme for the campaign is "Save Your Energy". Manager Lemke presented
the DVD portion of the campaign which demonstrates the benefits of using public transportation. Other materials
provided in the campaign are radio and TV commercials, Cinema ads, and print ads. Transit properties will have
the opportunity to obtain the marketing materials using their local logos etc. There will be no cost to the transit
property for the materials.
4. City Bus Video
Manager Lemke presented the, How to Ride the "City
Bus", video that was recently produced. The video was produced locally and will be available in the very near
future for distribution.
5. Late Night Bus Service
The Student Government Association will be taking
the Late Night Bus Service to referendum prior to winter break. If the referendum passes Manager Lemke will work
with the students, City P.D., and university officials to begin discussions on service details. Security cameras
would need to be installed on all city buses if the late night service is implemented and the local share cost
of the cameras would be split with the university.
6. State Performance Review
Report
The Wisconsin Dept. of Transportation is required
to assess the performance of each transit system in the state receiving aid under the state operating assistance
program on an annual basis using six performance indicators. Stevens Point Transit was found to be in compliance
in all six areas. A copy of the review can be obtained from the Transit office.
7. Adjourn
The meeting was adjourned at 7:15 p.m.
