2. 2008C BORROWING - STATE
TRUST FUND LOAN.

3. ASBESTOS REMOVAL QUOTES
- 1000 THIRD STREET & 916 CENTERPOINT DRIVE.
C/T Schlice stated we requested quotes from two local firms that provide asbestos services and as of the date of
this memo, we received one quote. This is an eligible TIF expense. The 916 Centerpoint Drive will be demolished
after the removal of the asbestos and related material and 1000 Third Street will not be demolished until the Historic
Design Review Commission addresses demolition of this building and other buildings in the acquisition area.
Ald. Stroik questioned how this price relates to past demolitions.
C/T Schlice replied that it will vary depending on how much material is in a particular building. It is hard to
do an apple to apple comparison. This asbestos removal is based on a plan that was already put in place, the firm
did not come in a pick and choose.
Motion made by Ald. Stroik, seconded by Ald. Walther to approve the bid for the asbestos removal at 1000 Third
Street & 916 Centerpoint Drive.
Ayes: All Nays: None Motion carried.
4. AUTHORIZATION TO OBTAIN
APPRAISAL FOR 1008 UNION STREET.
C/T Schlice stated we have been approached by Mr. Hanson (Dun Rite Cleaners) to purchase his building. This is
the acquisition area previously approved by the Common Council. The estimated appraisal cost is going to be about
$1,200-$1,500. Mr. Hanson will be bringing to the City the environmental reports and the actual acquisition and
related costs will be brought back to the Finance Committee at a later date.
Ald. Molski verified that we are buying the building only, not the business.
C/T Schlice stated yes.
Ald. Stroik questioned if he would continue to rent or would he be moving his business.
C/T Schlice replied that we are not that far in negotiations yet, it is still in the pricing stage.
Motion made by Ald. Stroik, seconded by Ald. Moore to authorize obtaining an appraisal for
1008 Union Street, not to exceed $1,500.
Ayes: All Nays: None Motion carried.
