Roll Call: Commissioners Meyer, Nuck, Rice, Schleihs and Taylor

3. Approval of Minutes - December 4, 2007

Commissioner Meyer moved, seconded by Commissioner Nuck, to approve the minutes of the December 4, 2007 meeting.

Ayes, all; nays, none. Motion carried.

4. Adjourn into executive session (approximately 4:35 p.m.) Pursuant to Wis. Stats. ss. 19.85 (1) (c) and (f) for the following:

a. Entry level firefighter/paramedic interview
b. Discussion, with possible action, grievance regarding MPO Tracy Aldrich paramedic pay.

Commissioner Nuck moved, seconded by Commissioner Taylor, to reconvene into open session.

Commissioner Meyer moved, seconded by Commissioner Nuck, to approve the hiring of Jonathan Holton as probationary firefighter/paramedic contingent upon the successful completion of all remaining hiring protocol and testing.

Ayes, all; nays, none. Motion carried.

Commissioner Taylor moved, seconded by Commissioner Rice, to deny the grievance to place MPO Aldrich at MPO-NRP pay. MPO Tracy Aldrich's pay will remain as EMT-I (Emergency Medical Technician - Intermediate).

Ayes, all; nays, none. Motion carried.

6. Confirmation of Bills

Commissioner Meyer moved, seconded by Commissioner Taylor, to accept the confirmation of the December 2007 Fire Department bills.

Ayes, all; nays, none. Motion carried.

Commissioner Meyer moved, seconded by Commissioner Nuck, to accept the confirmation of the December 2007 Police Department bills.

Ayes, all; nays, none. Motion carried.

7. Discussion, with possible action, Fire Chief's request to accept donation of $3,941.40 toward EMS supplies from Stevens Point Women's Club.

Commissioner Meyer moved, seconded by Commissioner Rice, to accept the donation of $3,941.40 toward EMS supplies from the Stevens Point Women's Club.

Ayes, all; nays, none. Motion carried.

8. Discussion, with possible action, Fire Chief's request to accept donation of $524.80 toward repair of steam washer from Beaver of Wisconsin, Inc., 2470 South Drive, Plover, Wisconsin.

Commissioner Meyer moved, seconded by Commissioner Taylor, to accept the donation of $524.80 toward repair of steam washer from Beaver of Wisconsin, Inc.

Ayes, all; nays, none. Motion carried.

9. Discussion, with possible action, to accept employment retirement of Bureau Chief Clarke Crandell effective December 31, 2007.

Commissioner Meyer moved, seconded by Commissioner Taylor, to accept employment retirement of Bureau Chief Crandell effective December 31, 2007.

Ayes, all; nays, none. Motion carried.

10. Discussion, with possible action, Fire Chief's request for the addition of three (3) names to complete the Fire Department's list of eligible entry level candidates.

Commissioner Meyer moved, seconded by Commissioner Taylor, to approve the Fire Chief's request for the addition of three names to complete the Fire Department's list of eligible entry level candidates.

Ayes, all; nays, none. Motion carried.

11. Fire Chief's Report

Chief Barnes reported:

Commissioner Meyer moved, seconded by Commissioner Taylor, to accept the Fire Chief's Report for December 2007.

Ayes, all; nays, none. Motion carried

12. Police Chief's Report

In Chief Morris' absence Captain Ruder reported:

Commissioner Taylor moved, seconded by Commissioner Meyer, to approve the Police Chief's report for December, 2007.

Ayes, all; nays, none. Motion carried

13. Adjournment
