3. Approval of Minutes -
January 15, 2008 and January 29, 2008
Commissioner Taylor moved, seconded by Commissioner Rice, to approve the minutes of the January 15, 2008
meeting and January
29, 2008 Special Meeting.
Ayes, all; nays, none. Motion Carried.
4. Confirmation of Bills
Commissioner Meyer moved, seconded by Commissioner Taylor, to accept the confirmation of the January 2008 Police
and Fire Department bills.
Ayes, all; nays, none. Motion carried.
5. Donations to Safety Cadet
Program from Bannach School, Washington School and McKinley School
Commissioner Rice moved, seconded by Commissioner Meyer, to approve the donations from Bannach, Washington and
McKinley Schools to the Safety Cadet Program.
Ayes, all; nays, none. Motion carried.
6. Discussion, with possible
action, approval of Officer Alan Raasoch to participate in the foreign Rotary exchange program
Commissioner Taylor moved, seconded by Commissioner Rice, the approval of Officer Alan Raasoch's participation
in the foreign Rotary exchange program. Officer Raasoch's pay and benefits will continue while he participates
in the program.
Ayes, all; nays, none. Motion carried.
7. Discussion, with possible
action, endorsement by Commission of Police Department Strategic Direction Plan as presented at the Special Commission
Meeting dated January 29, 2008.
Commissioner Rice moved, seconded by Commissioner Taylor, to adopt the Strategic Plan for implementation with the
understanding that the plan will be reviewed annually at a Special Commission Meeting to be held in January so
progress of the plan can be reviewed. The Commission commended the Department for the presentation at the special
meeting and acknowledged all the hard work that has gone into the plan to date.

Commissioner Meyer moved, seconded by Commissioner
Taylor, to approve the Police Chief's report for January 2008.
Ayes, all; nays, none. Motion carried.
9. Discussion, with possible
action, approval for the City to renew their Fire Department's participation in the Mutual Aid Box Alarm System
(MABAS)
Commissioner Meyer moved, seconded by Commissioner Rice, to approve the renewal of the Fire Department's participation
under the terms of the new MABAS Agreement as presented.
Ayes, all; nays, none. Motion carried.
10. Discussion, with possible
action, the Fire Department's efforts to initiate an initial aide agreement with the Village of Plover for aerial
service.
Commissioner Meyer moved, seconded by Commissioner Rice, to approve the development of an agreement between the
Village of Plover and the City of Stevens Point that provides fire suppression and rescue aerial service through
initial aid.
Ayes, all; nays, none. Motion carried.
11. Fire Chief's Report
Chief Barnes reported:

Taylor, to approve the Fire Chief's report for January, 2008.
Ayes, all; nays, none. Motion carried.
