Nays: None. Motion carried.
Commissioner Taylor moved, seconded by Commissioner Rice, to approve Officer Bethany Reed and Officer Jeremy Mueller
to regular status upon the successful completion of their probationary periods.
Ayes: Meyer, Nuck, Rice, Schleihs, Taylor
Nays: None. Motion carried.
4. Discussion, with possible
action, creating a list of specific duties, creating a time line of action to be reviewed at each successive PFC
meeting, and defining the structural chain of command regarding reporting accountability of the Interim Police
Chief and Interim Fire Chief to the Police and Fire Commission's representative, Jeff Morris.
The above issues were discussed. Commissioner Rice moved, seconded by Commissioner Taylor, to take no action at
this time on items 4 and 5 on the agenda. A special meeting will be held on July 8, 2008 to identify a title and
wording to revise the city ordinance for Jeff Morris's position.
Ayes, all; nays, none. Motion carried.
5. Discussion, with possible
action, requesting city council to create an interim public safety director position for the same time period as
the interim appointments of the fire and police chiefs.
No action at this time.
6. Discussion, with possible
action, settlement on overtime grievance within the police department.
This will be heard at the special commission meeting on July 8, 2008.
