The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. by Chairman Hans Walther.

Commission meeting.

2008 Transportation Commission meeting.
Bob Woehr seconded. Ayes all; Nays none, Motion carried.
2. Manager's Report:
2007 Ridership/Revenue Report
Annual ridership statistics indicate an 8% increase
in ridership over 2006. In 2006 the Transit system provided 198,459 and in 2007 ridership increased 15,882 rides
bringing the total system ridership to 214,341 rides.
Categorically the University ridership increased 7,692 rides with the remaining ridership categories of Adults,
Seniors, Disabled, Students and Transfers increasing by 8,190 rides. The Point Plus ridership was down by 708 rides.
Revenue increased $9,937.
2007 Final Budget Review
The transit operating expenses for 2007 were $1,299,379. Revenue generated was $1,091,742 leaving a local share balance of $207,637. A statistical breakdown is attached.
Park Ridge Subsidy
The City will be pursuing a subsidy from Park Ridge for transportation service. Manager Lemke anticipates the request will be for approximately $3000.00.
Updates on Shelter Project, Facility Project, Video Project
The IFB for the shelter project has not yet been
released by the state procurement specialist.
Manager Lemke has been in contact with state representatives who are optimistic that $80,000 will be approved by
the end of March for A&E services for the facility project. A 5311 federal contract for remaining funding for
the construction phase of the facility is expected to be released in June or July of 2008.
Interpreters have been secured for production of Hmong and Spanish speaking videos. They are coordinating with
Sara's Video and Photography to complete the project as soon as possible. The English version is expected to be
on the Transit website in a couple of weeks.
Crazy Days
Crazy Days will be July 11 and 12 this year. This is the first year Crazy Days will be held on a Friday and Saturday. Manager Lemke indicated ridership will be negatively affected by this change as public transportation does not run on Saturday. Free fixed route rides will be provided on Friday, July 11th .The Trolley will be providing free rides to promote Stevens Point Transit and ADB, on Saturday, July 12.
Resignation of Transportation Commissioner Joe Kanter
Joe Kanter notified Manager Lemke he is resigning from his position on the Commission. Fred Hopfensperger suggested
that Joe be publicly recognized for his many years of volunteer service on the Transportation Commission.
Bob Woehr moved to approve the Manager's report and place it on file. Fred Hopfensperger seconded. Ayes all; Nays
none; Motion carried.
3. Next meeting date.
The next Transportation Commission meeting is scheduled for April 2, 2008 at 6:00 p.m.
