Eagle Eye Neighborhood Park Watch Program
Cooperation
The is a cooperative program effort among park
and recreation agencies, schools, local police, and community residents.
Neighborhood Control
The Concept is easy. Community residents assume
more responsibility for the activities taking place in their own neighborhood. In the program, neighborhood eyes
are focused on local parks and park facilities.
Save Money
The Eagle Eye Program is designed to ultimately save us all money. Dollars wasted on cleaning up and repairing
vandalism can really add up.
Community Involvement
To really make the Eagle Eye Neighborhood Park Watch Program work, it will take participation from all residents
who live around and use local parks. With everyone watching, vandals won't stand a chance in our community.
Get Involved
If you would like to be involved in the Eagle Eye Neighborhood Park Watch Program, please call the Parks &
Recreation Department soon at (715) 346-1500.
Mission Statement
The Eagle Eye Neighborhood Park Watch Program is an effort to reduce vandalism to playground and park equipment,
to alleviate suspicious activities in the parks, to promote public awareness for parks, recreation and conservation.
The Eagle Eye goals are to:
Create awareness of activities in public parks
Instill strong Park, Recreation and Conservation
values in our children and to reinforce with our children the ways to be responsible citizens.
Develop a sense of ownership for neighborhood parks,
park lands and facilities.
Empower citizens who use parks and park facilities
thereby making them feel comfortable, safe and proud.
Decrease incidents of vandalism, crime, misuse
of park properties and related costs.
Increase public awareness, cooperation and communication
with law enforcement, citizens, community organizations, park, recreation and conservation agencies.
And finally, develop a national public awareness
and marketing program, utilizing "SEEMORE" the Eagle, to promote parks, recreation and conservation issues.
Seemore the Eagle LIVE
"SEEMORE" the Eagle was created to personalize the Eagle Eye Neighborhood Park Watch Program. Residents,
especially children, readily associate him with the program. Since children are the most regular park patrons,
"SEEMORE'S" main function is to visit schools and children's organizations and to educate them on being
responsible and observant park patrons. With the help of "SEEMORE", our "Eagle Eye" mascot,
children learn to "see" their parks, recreation facilities and programs as important and valuable in
their lives. They learn their parks are worthy of preserving and protecting as safe places to enjoy and have fun.
"SEEMORE" the Eagle also visits community events to promote the program and our agency and to create
a sense of fun.
To have Seemore visit your school or organization
in the Stevens Point area, call the Parks & Recreation Department at 346-1500.
Seemore says, "Always keep your dog on a leash
and
clean up any messes it makes - Thanks!"
