intended to promote your safety and the safety of others. Please obey them when riding your bicycle in the City
of Stevens Point, including our parks and on the Green
Circle Trail - Thank You! For a violation, any person age 17 and older will be charged the full fine amount. For any person under the age of 17 the fine amount is $50.00. |

City Ordinance 9.12(c)
Bicycle/Motor Bicycle Non-Registration Fine: $101.30
(the cost to register your Bicycle is only $3, contact the Police Dept. for more information.)
The following violations fall under the state statute and would be written on a Uniform Traffic Citation. The full fine amount would be assessed to anyone age 16 and older, otherwise, a person under 16 years old would be issued a citation for $50.00.
State Statute 346.24(2)
Sudden Pedestrian Movement Into Traffic Fine: $113.60
"No pedestrian or bicyclist shall leave the curb, and walk, run or ride in to the path of a vehicle which is so close that it is difficult for the operator of the vehicle to yield."

Failure to Stop/Improper Stop at Stop Sign
by Operator of Bicycle Fine: $101.30
State Statute 347.489(1)
Lamps and Other Equipment on Bicycles or
Motor Bicycles Fine: $113.60
"No person may operate a bicycle or motor bicycle upon a highway, sidewalk, or bike path during the hours of darkness unless the bicycle is equipped with or the operator is wearing a lamp emitting a white light visible from a distance of at least 500 feet to the front of the bicycle."
