Police Department
Gun Awareness, taught at the fourth grade level to both public and parochial schools, is a four day class. On three of the days, a Police Officer is in the classroom giving instruction from the provided booklet. The last class is a parents' night, and usually takes place in the evening. The parents are told briefly about the class and the importance of keeping guns locked up. The students then perform skits enacting the message they learned during the class periods, which is "STOP" "Don't Touch" "Leave the Area" "Tell an Adult."
